We offer several options for schools to see if Class Creator is the right fit before signing up:
We also have lots of testimonials! We have helped schools make over seven million student placements!
Australian and New Zealand schools will have their data stored in Australia, whilst any schools located outside of Australia and New Zealand will have their data stored in The United States of America.
It can’t.
Class Creator’s role is to empower educators, not to replace them!
Class Creator streamlines your existing process and provides you with all the tools you need to make the best classes possible.
Class list creation is both art and science:
Art
Class Creator’s entire process is built on the teacher judgement of students via surveys and all final placement decisions are made by the school/educators.
We have found this information is important for staff to know so that they realise Class Creator is “just” a tool to be used like Word, Excel or a Web Browser.
Science
Class Creator helps gather and organize the data and make the initial version of the classes based on our “teacher logic” algorithm.
Yes.
Class Creator stores data on Microsoft Azure. Microsoft has decades-long experience building enterprise software and running some of the largest online services in the world. It has leveraged this experience to implement and continuously improve security-aware software development, operational management, and threat mitigation practices that are essential to the strong protection of data in the cloud.
Security is built into Azure from the ground up, starting with the Secure Development Lifecycle, a mandatory development process that embeds security requirements into every phase of the development process. Azure infrastructure is resilient to attack by mandating that operational activities follow the rigorous security guidelines laid out in the Operational Security Assurance (OSA) process. For more information on the storage of data using Azure please visit their website here or contact us directly at Class Creator.
We use the best one-way encryption to store your password (technically known as PBKDF2), and use industry-leading cryptography to ensure data remains secure and confidential from our servers to you (using AES_128_GCM and uses ECDHE_ECDSA as the key exchange mechanism).
In the rare and unlikely event that there is unauthorised data accessed, we will work on containment and, if necessary, inform affected parties within 24 hours.
You can find more information in our Privacy Policy.
Both the subscription and support packages are annual charges. Some schools prefer to go with a multi-year option.
You can start with the support package for the first year and turn it off for the second year…because you’ll be a pro by then!
Yearly subscriptions are valid for:
Southern Hemisphere calendar schools (eg. 1 August 2025 – 31st July 2026)
Northern Hemisphere calendar schools (eg. 1 January 2026 – 31st December 2026)
No pro-rata subscriptions are offered due to the time period Class Creator is used. Using Class Creator for 3 months at the end of the year, will be the same charge as using Class Creator for an annual subscription.
When signing up you enter your current student enrollment number.
We allow for a 5% variation of this number in case your student numbers change.
If your enrollments increase, you can add the students to the system and we will issue a “top-up” invoice for the additional students.
The latter is correct – you will only be charged for the grade levels you are using Class Creator for. e.g. A high school may only be using Class Creator for grade 7, 8 & 9 and hence will only be charged for these 3 grade levels.
No, renewals are not automatic. Schools will need to confirm their enrolment numbers each year so that schools only pay for what they need as student numbers change or they no longer require support.
Yes.
The bigger the district, the bigger the discount we can provide.
Please contact us for District Pricing.
Our product development team are continuously working on new features and a large proportion of these new ideas come from our existing schools contacting us with feature requests.
Class Creator has evolved a lot since it was first released in 2014 and we understand that every school is unique, so after helping thousands of educators, we’ve developed solutions to solve a huge range of student placement situations.
If you have a feature request about something specific to your school, please reach out to us. We will let you know if Class Creator can meet the needs of your school, if your idea is already in the current development pipeline, or if you are a genius and we would like to add your idea to our development queue!
PS: We will also let you know if Class Creator can’t get you the outcome you need.
Class Creator is web-based, so there is no need to install anything.
When we launch a new feature, you will simply need to log out and back in to access it.
Relatives and students with the same name are not separated automatically.
Some schools/families want siblings separated, while others want them paired together. That’s why Class Creator lets you make all decisions about separations/pairings.

The ClassLink, Clever, Sentral and Wonde integrations are included free of charge with your Class Creator subscription.
Reach out today for a connection request via help@classcreator.io.
Once live, you will be able to login (SSO) via your preferred integration partner directly from the Class Creator login page.
Class Creator syncs automatically with the integration partner of your choice every day, overnight. For any urgent updates, you can also trigger a manual sync.
It’s a very straightforward and a linear process as we know how busy educators are!
Unlike most tech solutions in education, Class Creator was designed by educators.
Most schools can import their students and teachers, set up the surveys, and send them out to staff within an hour.
The teacher survey is super easy; it’s a lot like a Google Form or Survey Monkey.
The next step involves administrators configuring their new classes before Class Creator will instantly create class lists once teacher survey responses are received, before admins can refine and tweak the new class lists as they see fit using our tools to support creating the best possible class lists for your school community.
The whole process could easily be done in a day, even a few hours if everything was ready to go.
Fill in your details on our sign-up page.
We’ll create your account and email your login details within one business day (usually much sooner) and you can start making classes.
We send the invoice through after your login details because we know how time-sensitive the process can be in schools and we don’t to hold up your progress will you arrange payment.
Class Creator uses an Excel Spreadsheet to import students or via our data integration partners i.e. ClassLink, Clever, Sentral or Wonde.
It’s really easy and means that Class Creator works with any SIS/SMS.
Nothing.
Class Creator is cloud-based, so it can be accessed on any internet-enabled device (e.g. computer or tablet).
This means you don’t have to install anything or worry about security updates.
All new features and updates will be rolled out to you automatically.
Most schools are fine with the included standard support plan.
If you can copy and paste into an Excel spreadsheet, are happy to learn from our in-app videos, knowledge base articles, email support and join the free-live training webinars offered each spring, twice a week, then the included support should be enough for you.
The premium support plan is for schools that would love a live onboarding session, help setting up their surveys, and phone support.
We have team members in both Australia and the United States, so there is close to 24/7 support offered via the Need a Hand button in-app, with typically responses offered within 10 minutes!
Class Creator doesn’t have a support phone number available to call as a first option for schools. Our support team will respond to emails and share Knowledge Base articles including video guides as a first option when you run into an issue. If your school requires a complex response, your school may prefer to upgrade to premium support which includes 1:1 video calls/phone support. Review our support options here.
